Creating chaos

Yesterday was a lovey sunny day with a few clouds and a little wind very much the calm before the storm. Over night it had been incredibly windy  and as is common on a farm various sheds rattled and small items blew about.  When Jim went out to let the hens out at 6.30am he came racing back in shouting all the hens are gone there no whare to be seen. I jumped out of bed pulling on what ever I could find and rushed out to help him search. we quickly found the escapees and enticed them back to their run with food. They didn't deem to mind   they were more concerned about their empty tummies.
Later that afternoon while I was out fixing some fencing again I heard the shout from Jim "those F***ing hens are out again" this  then drew attention to them
and our 8 month old puppy decided she wanted to play with them. Hens were scattering about the yard and into the paddocks by the house. This wasn't going to be as easy to round up . After catching the puppy we then set about catching the hens most of whom gave up easily except 1, after hunting all round I found her in a hedge trapped in a fence . This meant I'd have to g o in after her.  She had chosen the thickest and prickliest place to get stuck. After a bit of a struggle with her and lots of flapping and screeching on her part we finally reunited her with the rest of the flock.
On inspection we discovered that the lock on the outside door had been damaged in the wind the previous night meaning the girls were taking the opportunity to go on an adventure every time the door swung open in the wind.
